Baby Food

Adi is getting to the point that she really likes to feed herself. I feel like she gets lots of carbs and I give her veggies. I also feel like I feed her the same things over and over because I know what she likes. I need help. Give me some meal ideas. What were your kids favorite foods when they were her age?

mac and cheese, ravoli, spaghetti, taters, anything and everything. she has teeth so she can eat whatever you eat, just make sure you cut it up small enough for her.

I made the mistake of only feeding my kids their favorite foods when they were little and they became very picky eaters! I've watched Bree and my friend Corin give their kids lots and lots of variety and Corin's little boy will eat raw spinach, lettuce, and many other "adult" foods. Braylon is the same way. Just thought I would share so that hopefully Adi wouldn't be as picky as my kids. On the other hand, their fav foods were spaghetti, scrambled eggs, and pizza. Good luck!

lizzie faith loves to eat anything and everything that her daddy and i eat! i agree with andrea! don't limit! right now you are training her pallet/taste buds! run with it!! if you notice something upset her tummy, wait a month and try again! :) (we've only had trouble with her having lots of tomato based sauces like spaghetti, so i give her some with spaghetti sauce and meat and some noodles with butter and garlic! yum! chicken can sometimes be tough to digest but just don't eat it two days in a row).

Thanks guys! I hope that I can do better with variety. It is hard when I am picky myself. Maybe I should branch out a little myself.

Seriously, I agree with the others--she eats whatever you guys are having. Kiana only has two teeth and has been eating whatever we eat for at least six months--pork chops, hamburger, chicken, broccoli, whatever. About the only thing I watch is raw veggies like carrots, broccoli, etc. But my kids are all great eaters--not picky--eat everything, even spinach and broccoli and asparagus, etc. I know too many people who have to carry a meal in their diaper bag to a friend's house so their kid will eat something--NOT gonna do that! :)
